Dear Mom - Letters to Heaven

Life is life - whether in a cat, or dog or man. There is no difference there between a cat or a man. The idea of difference is a human conception for man's own advantage.

The Kochs have long depended on the public’s not knowing all the details about them. They have been content to operate what David Koch has called “the largest company that you’ve never heard of.”
The Kochs operate oil refineries in Alaska, Texas, and Minnesota, and control some four thousand miles of pipeline. Koch Industries owns Brawny paper towels, Dixie cups, Georgia-Pacific lumber, Stainmaster carpet, and Lycra, among other products.
University of Massachusetts at Amherst’s Political Economy Research Institute named Koch Industries one of the top ten air polluters in the United States.

Solar World Round Up - 08/23/10

While the politicians whore themselves out to the highest bidder and say whatever their pollsters think will gain them attention and votes the rest of us out here are trying honestly and sincerely to move the Country and World forward.

Alternative, clean energy sources are the answer to our employment problems, our health problems, our well being and state of mind. Until we live "within" our environment and not on top of it we will never know contentment, harmony and peace.

It's as simple as that but there are mighty rich people standing in the way of progress because that means the undoing of their in-particular "cash cow". Big oil, big coal and big nuke do not want to let go. But they can not stop progress and progress is coming, and surrounding them at every corner.

Here is the latest from the world of Solar Power and those that "Get It"

Mitch McConnell and the Piss that is Trickling Down

While Mitch McConnell tries to sell the expiration of the Bush Tax Cuts as a hit to small business - Americans need to ask themselves just how stupid are our citizens.

I mean really America how stupid are you? 1% of the richest bastards living among us get a huge tax cut and pay a smaller percent in taxes than you do and this asshole Mitch McConnell thinks he can sell you that its a hit on small business.

The 1% do not plow those tax breaks back into the economy they send that money off shore into tax free havens called Bermuda, The Cayman Islands and Switzerland. Trickle down hasn't created any wealth for anyone other than the richest 1%. You've been sold a bag of shit while our National wealth is getting pilfered and hoarded by a very few Un-American people.

Why are they Un-American because you would pay your fair share willingly. You were raised to work hard and do the right thing. Help someone with a flat tire, or an old lady across the street. The richest 1% would kick her to the curb if there was money in it for them. And they have done so with their raping of her pension and saving funds - thank you very much.

The only way to insure re-investment from the unber wealthy who enjoy our roads and military to provide them an infer-structure in order to do their business in the first place is to tax those bastards at the same rate the rest of us get taxed.

Then and ONLY then will the money come back into the system. Mitch McConnell and his ilk are frauds, carnival hucksters and game show barkers not believing their own words as they pass over their own lips.

Right wing America you are being played for saps, dupes, dopes, and marks because they have starved your educational system and fed you propaganda twenty four hours a day, seven days a week. You have been cross marketed a lifestyle that banks on ignorance.

It's not hip to be square, its not cool to be stupid and its criminal to be so damn gullible.

Enjoy NASCAR, drink your Budweiser and go shoot some deer in the woods but do not believe for a second that the richest 1% of this Country give a damn about you or care whether you come or go, have to filter their pollution out of your food and drinking water or even enjoy the same things you do, live the same way you do, act the same way you do, or conduct their business the same way you do.

No way buddy they hold you in complete and utter contempt for being so easily manipulated, gullible and stupid, for spending your last dollars on their worthless products, and spending all your free time watching their advertising in your living room.

No way buddy should you accept or believe that trickle down is any thing other than you - yeah you - getting pissed on from above.

Go vote for the worthless, lying, rip-off representatives of con-artist republicans suckers - and vilify the guy who's trying to throw you a bone. You deserve what you get.

Anna Faris - Lovable Goofball

Well I'm not always up to speed on what's going on. That's what happens when you are focused on politics and the bastards stealing our country's wealth. I caught a few scenes of Anna's in Scary Movie while channel surfing years ago and immediately recognized something special was happening here. I thought who is this lovable goofball.

Still having zero clue recently I stumbled into her again watching a Smiley Face trailer noticed it was her, and immediately ordered the movie from Net Flix knowing it was a vehicle for Anna's talent.

What we have here is a cross between Goldie Hawn in her prime and Carol Burnett. In other words she's not just playing dumb but there is a brain behind her act.

After seeing Smiley Face I quickly loaded up on her movies. Just Friends for me took it up a notch. That vehicle for Ryan Reynolds and Amy Smart was hijacked by Anna Faris and they all know it. Anna plays an over the top pop tart and well to put it bluntly I would have never watched that movie if it wasn't for Anna. Its just dreck. But Anna is a scream (no pun intended) and if you have even the slightest hint of humor in your soul go rent the movie.

Yes you'll suffer through the Ryan Reynolds fat suit part, but thankfully that goes away quickly but not soon enough. Here's another bottom line.....they could have made that movie without Amy Smart and just expanded on the story line of Ryan and Faris and their exploits. It's good stuff thankfully not buried completely in a horrid movie.

Up next for me are movies I thought I would never watch....House Bunny, Scary Movie II, Observe and Report. I can not wait to see Anna's scenes.

Smiley Face by the way was a stoner's paradise. In any other hands that movie would be pedestrian at best but as a vehicle for Anna Faris it is consistently funny and outrageously so in some parts.

Anna Faris has a sophistication behind her goofiness and exaggerations. She can channel a blizzard of emotional ranges in shot after shot going from A to Z and they are all played perfectly with aplomb. With subtle restraint and a hint of who's putting who on here there is outrageous whimsy and a perfect glint in her eye. It lets us know we are all in on the joke. Carol Burnett did that very well and Anna has got it down righteously.

Catch her movies no matter how sophomoric, juvenile, or stupid they may seem. Because there is nothing juvenile, or sophomoric about Anna Faris. She is just delightfully ridiculous in an honest and smart sense even when she is playing it seemingly way over the top.

She just might be the new Groucho Marx....and I'm not kidding.

Texas Files Challenge to Offshore-Drilling Ban

The Status quo from Texas ran this Country into the ground for the better part of a decade. Their "right" to pollute, and take massive tax subsidies at the same time created a reckless policy of arrogance and disregard for "ALL" others in the market place - from fishermen to consumers to the once great middle class. Their day is coming to an end and I suggest the oil riggers study how to build wind turbines and install solar panels. It's back to school for the riggers and the smart ones are already transitioning to the new green economy. The handwriting is on the wall and has been for a long long time.

The biggest tidal energy turbine in the world has been unveiled in the Scottish Highlands today as the rest of the world completely hammers us on developing new technologies and clean energy sources. Why? Because we aren't capable...? No. Because big oil and their well greased representatives local, state and federal, are doing all they can to hang onto their market rigging hyper money making business model and preventing the competition from even entering the field and marketplace. Hey, that's the game and that's how it works.

Kudos to them for buying up the politicians and changing the rules, eliminating the laws that "governed" them, eliminating their federal taxes, and even then getting millions upon millions in tax payer subsidies heaped upon them. Nice work if you can get it but it ties up money that could go to new emerging markets, re-training our work force and educating our citizens.

Kudos to them for working the system and setting aside all values but the value of a dollar. It doesn't make them patriots; it doesn't make them good citizens, Jeffersonian, or even Americans because they hold all else other than profit, even their own customers in total and utter contempt.

A companies single focus on their bottom line is great for shareholders (of which I am one) but it is often devastating to the macro economic realities of the "whole" market place and affects the rest of our portfolios dramatically, and negatively in a complex and interrelated national and global market system of which they pay no mind to (except their little sliver) - as if operating in a vacuum.

Monopolies, oligopolies are not hero's to be lionized, left to theirs and our demise or put in charge of "governing" themselves. They are a cancer on the whole system shutting down, sidelining and stagnating, innovation and discovery. They are set up to be competition killing machines, corner the market, and are far worse than "governing" regulation where the focus is on the whole macro-economic picture.

You can call it socialism if you' don't own a dictionary but in reality its called "management" and that is what governments are for - to manage the markets - see that the playing field is level and THEN - get out of the way.

"There's no way to measure his greatness or magnitude as a person or as a player. I don't think eulogizing will do him justice. He was great -- much more than a superb musician with an uncanny ear and dexterity. He is the very spirit personified of whatever is muddy river country at its core and screams up into the spheres. He really had no equal... His playing was moody, awesome, sophisticated, hypnotic and subtle. There's no way to convey the loss. It just digs down really deep."---- Bob Dylan on Jerry Garcia's death:

The Power Grab

The power grab was when Regan took office and rolled back taxes for the richest 1% "only". Those richest 1% are the ones who have grabbed power, re-written the laws, crippled the middle class and gutted our educational system. The goal was to make people less independent minded and much more easily manipulated. The goal was to make sheep and not independent American citizens fully versed in their rights and liberty's or fully understanding of the need for governing the reckless behavior of profiteers. The profiteers have no regard for the Earth or the market system working as an interrelated function and they certainly do not have any regard for sustainability. That means tough luck to the rest of us unless we "govern" them.

Ignorant is easier to sell to, ignorant is easier to scare, ignorant is easier to manipulate.

The power grab continued with creating a supreme court based on ideology instead of precedent. The power grab was the Office of the President itself by George "W" Bush. The power grab was Cheney's closed door meetings with the nations oil producers, handing them the keys to the kingdom and the rule book to re-write.

The power grab was the dismantling of all the common sense regulation developed after the first great depression. It only took us five decades to have selective amnesia thanks to greed and reject the lessons of reason, logic and pragmatism instead embracing sick ideology like a rabid cult.

Yea America, yea status quo, yea captains of industry - way to fuck it up .......again (?!!?) **sigh**
