Song of the Day is thrilled to present a double dose of Melody Gardot a chanteuse from Philadelphia. Regularly touring Europe she is a beautiful performer and song writer with an eternal sensibility. Her back story is both amazing and tragic but I would rather focus on her music. These beautiful simmering slow burn songs were both recorded on her My one and only thrill album (It's the one we fell in love with). Melody has a place in our home and travels not only during dinner but during our sun-downers whenever we can arrange that. Her sunglasses are not an affectation but a result of a critical car and bicycle accident. No way brothers and sisters but rather just another example of the very real healing power and magic of music.
In an ever increasingly noisy and hysterical world Melody's voice, phrasing, lyricism and sensibilities are a warm wind and a reminder and balm for the soul.
